The Final Felting

Well, I finally finished the OneSkein project (and August is almost over! It's been a busy month.) Here is the project before:I ended up just doing a chain for the strap, using the yarn scraps I was able to salvage from my last failed strap attempt. It's okay - I have trimmed those little bits you see hanging off of it. I will not be offended if my pal hacks the strap off and replaces that part. All in all, I'm pleased with the final product - but wish that the lacy bits on the flap showed up more. It's possible (and likely) that I left this felting in the wash too long. (Did it at my mother's house, and she's got a front-loading washer. Can't open the door during the cycle.)

Here's a couple of after shots:
Flap open

Flap closed.

Now, the goal is to get this in the mail before the end of the month. Wish me luck!

Any comments? My brother looked at it and asked if that was how it was supposed to look. I gave him one of my looks, and he laughed. (I am hoping he only said it to annoy me.)

I think it looks cute!

I agree with you, I am not sure the handle's gonna make it. No offense. It just doesn't look thick enough for a bag that size.
But, I have been following your difficulties, so I understand it's origin. Sometimes we have to make due!

Hope your doing well. You ought to IM me sometime. :)

Siblings are on this planet primarily to annoy. Cute bag - I like it!

Yeah, no offense or anything, but I think I'm siding with your brother on this one. I know...bad David, bad! But seriously though...what is it? Is it a purse? I'm a guy, so cut me some slack Tami, k? K.

Cute but if you're anything like me it will take a couple of months to get in the mail.

It's a purse, of sorts. And only a little slack for you DT. Dagny - I am afraid of how long it will take me to get into the mail...I've got the wedding this weekend, so it's not happening until next week at the soonest...and that's the end of the month.
