Crochet Goodies

One Skein Package

I got my first skein in the mail today. It's a beautiful silky sock yarn made out of soybean fiber. I'm excited - I've been interested in the soy-based yarns, but hadn't found them in any shops. And this is a great colorway too. Right up my alley. It also came with a little plastic tote bag, and some very cute stitch holders. Thank you Secret Pal!!

Now, I need to get off my butt and send out one of the skeins to my secret pal...

Felting Progress

I finished up that Tote Bag I found a couple of weeks ago and felted it while at my Dad's. (Didn't want to attempt to felt it at the apartment complex laundry room...) It came out taller and skinnier than I had expected, but I'm happy with the overall outcome. Actually, the Manos del Uruguay yarn felted really well! I love the curly look of it (see the close-up). I'm definitely going to use this yarn again for another felting project. If I can find the old FiberTrends pattern, I'd use this to make the felted crocheted hats. I haven't made those in a while. (Haven't been able to find the pattern.)

Here's a close up shot of the texture. Isn't it cool?

Dental Adventures

Tomorrow afternoon I get the root canal done. I've been having that lack of appetite problem again, and think it might be related to the abscessed tooth. I'm hoping that's what it is. If it is, the root canal should take care of it. Not that I'm necessarily looking forward to it, but it needs to be done. And I've had a couple other people say they either had the same appetite problem when they had an abscess or knew someone who did. That makes me feel a little bit better. Okay, a whole lot better. My big fear is that I'm feeling not right because my anxiety issues are getting worse. I would much rather it be that my body is fighting an infection.

Wish me luck!
