Happy 2007!!

Hello all! I hope everyone had a happy & safe New Year's celebration. I am quite happy that 2006 is finally over!! I don't know about everyone else, but last year was pretty much a major crapfest for me, and for many other people I know. So, here's to hoping that 2007 brings much health, wealth and happiness to all! (And if you've been reading my blog for any amount of time, you'll know that I was lacking in all of these things at some time or another over the last year.)

This year, a friend of mine threw a little New Year's party at her home in San Ramon. She wasn't too happy about staying in this year, but I think we had a pretty good time, even though it was a small group. We played Apples to Apples, which I hadn't even heard of before. It was actually pretty funny. And I won, which always makes me enjoy a game a little more (what can I say? I'm a bit competitive.) Then we played a bit of Trivial Pursuit - Totally 80s Edition. It's harder than you'd think...even being a child of the 80's...of course, I was only 5 when the decade began. Maybe I'd do better with a 90's edition. Of course, I have to say, it doesn't matter what decade it's from, I am no good at news or sports trivia...at all!

We took a break from the game to watch the ball drop, clink glasses, and then poop out on the comfy chairs around the living room. And then the break was an end to the game, as once we all got cozy, there was just no going back. And so, here's the first sight I had of 2007 (or rather, the first sight that made it onto my digital camera.) Jodie - I warned you this would show up here! :)

Happy New Year! I think I'd rock the 80s version of Trivial Pursuit, being a bit older than you. But the sports section would still probably suck.

I've heard of Apples to Apples, but never played. It sounds like it was fun. How do you play?? What's the basic premise?

It is advertised on one of my favorite radio talk shows, but they never explain the game. Would love to know about it. Would love to know if you think it is worth picking up.

We need to expand our game collecton.

Sorry- duh.

Helps to look at the link before asking questions. Still want to know if you think it's worth it.

Oh yeah, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year!!! Glad you had a good time. I am enough older than you that the 80s TP is my game!! But like the Empress forget about the sports section... I basically bite in that category for every single version of the game....
